On his third recording for Onyx, Augustin Dumay is featured both as conductor and violin soloist. The disc pairs the deliciously good-natured Serenade No.1 by Brahms, an early work full of great tunes, with early Beethoven - his popular Romances for violin and orchestra - one of which may have been the second movement to his unfinished C major concerto WoO5 of the mid-1790s. Dumay shines in both roles, and the Kansai Philharmonic once again demonstrates their world-class skills and burnished tone.

ブラームスのセレナードは、そもそもよく知...

ブラームスのセレナードは、そもそもよく知らない曲なので「ふーん」程度しか印象に残りませんでしたが、きっと演奏はそこそこ良いのだろうという気はしました。 残念なのは、購入目的だったベートーヴェンの2曲のロマンス。どちらも心細げな弱音で、ボリュームを思いっ切り上げて聞いてみても、何をしたいのかよく分かりませんでした。
